Mobile-Me: How do you look on the iPhone?
I recently took some of my own advice and shared my site with friends and colleagues for a little free usability review. One designer friend said, “I’m impressed. Your site looks really great on my iPhone,” which he pulled out and insto-presto, there it was — a mini version of my site.
“It loaded fast, too.”
He turned the iPhone sideways and the site flipped horizontal, too, then tapped to cruise through pages and zoom in to read. Not novel at all for someone with an iPhone. But I was secretly thrilled — thrilled and kicking myself at the same time.
I had QA’d my site on Mac and PC, on IE and Firefox (but not yet Chrome), but I skipped the most obvious display of my brand — the mobile me. Thank goodness it worked out. Thanks in part to WordPress!
Coincidentally, I saw that WordPress is offering a way to update your site via iPhone. Imagine the in-the-moment updates you could make … from wherever you are.
