5 Ways to “Back off the sell and amp up the entertainment.”
Love that quote. It’s from Forbes article called “Try These Innovative Marketing Techniques.” The article has some great case studies about how content that’s valuable to your target audience — like ebooks, enewsletters, and videos — can attract a lot of eyeballs and a lot of buzz.
Need your own content strategy to be more visible online? Here are some free content tips; pick and choose what works for you:
- Be the expert. What’s your area of expertise? What do you know that your customers would just LOVE to find out? Write about that.
- Be helpful. Give your audience things to do that’ll make it easier to reach their goals.
- Be really specific. Give details and real-life examples.
- Use your talking voice. Use words that everyday people use — not industry or marketing jargon. Be sure you’re weaving in words that people might be searching for to find you.
- Provide options to digest your content. What’s the best way to deliver your message? In a video? Podcast? As daily tips via RSS feed? Mix it up as appropriate.
